24 foot Johnburg Back Ground
Johnburg is an imaginary town in Central Pennsylvania were the Baltimore & Ohio and Reading Railroads meet.
The extension has converted Johnburg in to a through station with a mix of local, branch, and diverted
mainline passenger trains. A carriage siding with ice house has been added for use by branch trains.
The yard has been much enlarged and now includes a loop.
Existing industries coal from the Grisedale Coal & Coke Co Coal loader, Trailer on Flat Car from the ramp
based on the former CNW ramp in Huron SD, and general freight have been augmented by the Whisky
Run Lime Co, a RIP (repair in place track) and a weighbridge. I'm not sure about the weighbridge it
should generate a lot of switching but I'm not sure viewers will understand why - so this needs monitoring.
The layout is stll exhibitable at 12 foot if required.

Road crossing

The road crossing area was though to be visually bland so the Red Diner and truck park were added.
Trucks are parked waiting for a slot on the
Trailer on Flat Car (TOFC) ramp and a space at the team track.
The white oil tank is an enlargement of my parents' oil tank.

Weighbridge

There were worries that the public might not know the role of the weighbridge.
Hopefully it will be clarified by the sign and notice.

12 foot Johnburg Back Ground
Johnburg is an imaginary town in Central Pennsylvania were the Baltimore & Ohio and Reading Railroads meet.
Both railroads now terminate at Johnburg though previously freight trains had extended to coal mines further up the Valley of the Whisky Run.
The station remains highly active with passengers, coal from the Grisedale Coal & Coke Co Coal loader,
Trailer on Flat Car from the ramp based on the former CNW ramp in Huron SD, and general freight.
