Plymouth and Devonport to Exeter Railway

Hexworthy Halt
is in the valley of the River Swincombe near Sherberton about ¾ miles from the hamlet's centre. Hexworthy, with a population of about 250 is the largest 'high Dartmoor' hamlet served by the railway. It was a mining hamlet but now depends on tourism and farming. There are several granite quarries in the area and one has been reopened & enlarged to provide ballast for the railway and aggregate for the building trade. Passengers would be a mix of locals and tourists.
