Great Western Railway planned to build a light railway extension of the Mawgan Branch south to Lizard.  After experience with operating motor buses on the Lizard Peninsula the Great Western Railway decided to provide a service with buses and trucks rather than a light railway. The layout represents an interesting 'might have been' station.
